Q: How do you say cooling in Suriname? A: Solarbear Q: What is the word people in rural area’s of Ghana use for refrigeration? A: Solarbear Rotten food and insufficient cooling of medicine are two enormous problems in developing countries. Solarbear provides a sustainable and relatively cheap solution for these problems. By using energy of the sun the cooling system of Solarbear turns a big con in a needed pro. In short this project exists of the actual implementation of a solar-powered cooling system in off-grid area’s. This will not only influence health in a positive way but also give a boost to the local economy. Initially the focus of this SIFE team will be on a pilot area in Ghana but a next stage will be implementation in other developing countries and emerging economies (i.e. Brazil, India etc.). |
